Lenny hooked his first Smallmouth Bass when he was eight years old while fishing in Connecticut's Natchaug River. After he moved to Virginia, he became proficient in catching Striped Bass, Spadefish, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, and Black Drum in the Chesapeake Bay. The love of fishing gave him an appreciation for the land and its creatures. Thirty years ago, he began seriously studying birds and photographing nature. Captain Lenny holds degrees in Biology, Natural History, and Secondary Education and teaches Science in a North Carolina public high school.
